The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever was originally known as the Little River Duck Dog and originated in the Little River district of Nova Scotia Canada.
A tolling dog frolics along the shoreline in full view of a flock of ducks. The dog’s playful actions arouse the curiosity of the ducks, luring them within gunshot range. The Toller then retrieves the shot birds from land or water.
The Toller Club of Great Britain was formed in 2004 as a support to owners of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers and is run by a volunteer committee of Toller owners, who bring a variety of personal skills to the club.
Membership of the club gives access to our annual Funday, Talking Tollers magazine twice a year, reduced rates for our training days and access to our members only Facebook group.
