High Flyer Scheme

The Toller Club Of Great Britain is committed to promoting excellence in breeding to preserve the quality of the breed.

As such we have come up with a scheme which will help both breeders and potential new puppy owners.

Breeders accepted on to this scheme will be shown at the bottom of this page

The scheme will consist of two levels:

High Flyers

This is our top level and will be awarded to breeders applying for the scheme who have proved consistently that they have bred Tollers to the Clubs following standards

  • Abide by the Club Code of Ethics
  • All health tests listed below must be completed and the results must comply with our Code of Ethics
  • Pups brought up in the home environment
  • Breeders must demonstrate they look at compatibility for conformation, temperament and health ie not doubling up on problem areas
  • Puppies must go with a puppy pack including; KC registration, contract, info on SRMA and other health issues, food supply, worming regime, blanket/toy that smells of Mum
  • All puppies KC endorsed
  • Lifetime backup

Fledgling Flyers

Our starting level aimed at new breeders who are planning or have only had one litter and  are achieving our club breeding standards as above.

This level will also be used for breeders who have not reached our breeding standards in the past but have improved with one litter or planning to improve to follow all our breeding standards.

Both levels will be reviewed annually and breeders moved up and down accordingly if they wish to remain in the scheme.

To apply for the acceptance forms please email  highflyers@thetollerclub.org.uk

Breeders will need to apply to be considered for the scheme we will not be inviting anyone to join.

Please note that the scheme is only an indication that a breeder has reached a standard of breeding that the Toller Club of Great Britain feels acceptable and has applied to join the scheme.  The Toller Club of Great Britain does not endorse or recommend any individual breeder and all new puppy buyers should still carry out their own due diligence when selecting a suitable breeder but we hope that this new scheme will be a helpful tool in this process

Breeders must carry out ALL the tests listed or can show clear by parentage (must test after 2 generations). These go well beyond the KC recommendations because we as a breed club have more extensive knowledge of conditions in our breed

prcd-PRA, Hip score, Elbow score, KC/BVA eye test, DE, JADD, DM, CEA/CH, CDDY/IVDD

The following tests are desirable but not essential

CLPS, CP1, Buff

A list of laboratories carrying out these tests are given at the bottom of our Health page
